English Tuition Alderley Edge

At Select Learning Centres in Alderley Edge we provide English tuition for all age groups and levels of ability, from our early years English tuition which consists of basic phonics and letter recognition to our A-Level tuition which looks at classic novels, the history and development of the English Language and the use on media and non-fiction.
However, no matter what level pupils are working at tuition tackles every individual’s needs. In English the main areas of improvement are in:

• Spelling and Phonics.
• Sentence structure and punctuation.
• Developing confidence with use of vocabulary and more complex terms.
• Understanding different key terms and their uses, such as: alliteration, metaphor or personification.
• Developing an understanding of the purpose of an article and the genre it is set in.
• Quoting from the text to back up points.
• Reading in-between the lines of a text.
• Writing to persuade, advise and argue.

With every child the focus will be on different aspects of language but we are fully prepared and experienced enough to cater for all areas that children might need to develop.
